Performs a variety of manual labor activities, which may include stocking, janitorial, maintenance, groundskeeping, mail handling, delivery, messenger, moving, and/or storage functions. This position provides support for safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Duties may include maintaining and caring for interior and exterior buildings and grounds, operating hand tools, walk-behind equipment, small riding equipment, etc. Must be able to adhere to established procedures, techniques, and safety requirements. Performs light maintenance, including painting, preventative maintenance, all phases of janitorial work, and groundskeeping operations.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and six months of related experience. Any acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be able to read and write in English; have knowledge of custodial methods and procedures; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment; ability to prioritize work; and knowledge and ability to do basic preventive maintenance tasks. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, use hand tools, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for periods up to 9.5 hours daily, and lift up to 100 pounds.
