Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills

Position Information: Classified PG 4 Full-time with Benefits $39,087/annual (minimum). Provide support in software and hardware installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance. Responsible for all personal computers, including the installation of new software upgrades as well as related hardware and peripherals. Monitor domain systems, active directories (change passwords and backup), and SharePoint environments. Build virtual environments for server operations and test environments. Assist in assessing IT policies. Install and maintain Local Area Network (LAN) including, but not limited to, making, pulling, and installing appropriate cabling, replacement of faulty switches, and replacing faulty punch downs. Configure and maintain IP video and web conferencing equipment. Assist users with problems in accessing technology information, email system, network connectivity and other related problems. Assist with the maintenance and administration of the College’s imaging machines for all College departments. Install and maintain network printers, scanners, and other appropriate hardware. Install, maintain, and monitor network user computers, including the installation or peripherals, increases in memory, or any other device changes. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Associate’s degree, or vocational or technical school degree in Information Systems Technology or related field, plus two years or more experience in installing and maintaining software and hardware for personal computers. Networking and computer repair are preferred. Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Strong technical and team working skills are required. Must have a strong commitment to excellent customer service, demonstrating a people-first attitude, patience to communicate with various interdisciplinary teams and users, attentiveness, creativity, and resourcefulness. Interpersonal and communication skills is required, along with specialized industry knowledge
